Linking Teaching and Research in Health Sciences and Practice

Linking Teaching and Reasearch in Health Sciences and Practice

In the Linking Teaching and Research project we investigated how teaching and research were linked within the Health Sciences and Practice disciplines.

Along with six other subject Centres, the project forms part of a national LTSN Generic Centre project, directed by Prof. Alan Jenkins.

The government’s recent proposal to concentrate research funding in fewer top departments is likely to lead to an increased segregation between teaching and research (See: The Future of Higher Education, 2003). This calls for urgent attention from all those involved in Health Sciences and Practice education. We are setting up a Special Interest Group (SIG) where the importance of the links between teaching and research within Health Sciences and Practice disciplines can be debated. If you are interested in finding out more about the SIG meetings please contact sabah.boulebbad@kcl.ac.uk

This site provides a number of resources on the links between teaching and research in our disciplines:
